PROBATE OF ESTATES

Probate of an estate is the process of figuring out the ownership of a deceased person's assets through the probate court. Usually it is when a person dies without a will but can also be the case that there is a question of whether a will is valid. Sometimes a decedent (deceased person) owes money to creditors or the government through taxes. The court process will determine who gets paid what and when.
